Description: Elaborate Victorian Walnut Rococo Commode with the original cut corner marble and high back marble splash slab with candle cups in fine original condition. A beautiful shell carved pull decorates the drawer front. There are scroll and leaf carvings and curved race track moldings with more three dimensional cartouche carvings on the door and matching racetrack. The side stiles are especially well done with wonderful open pierced scrolled carvings that step away from the sides - three inches! The lock is missing for the door but there is an old key to help open it. All in fine original finish with a warm patina, this is an exceptional example of this Victorian form!
