Description:
This is a collection of two well organized scrapbooks from an early television pioneer whom was an actress/model named Virginia W.Roder. Or also known professionally in television as Ginny Bennau from Hackensack,New Jersey. She worked in early television from the 1940's through the late 1950's before starting her own family. These large scrapbooks focus on her life and career during that period. There are some wonderful early television photographs and ephemera. A full detail account of her career which begun in Chicago and St.Louis is included in this archive. From 1947 to 1948 she co-produced a televisin show in St.Louis,Missouri called the St.Louis International Fashion Show. Where she also did live commericals on the air.She later did another television program where she spent most of her life in Hackensack,New Jersey called "House Hunting with Bergton".She was featured on T.V. guide and numerous other publications including Vogue and Cosmopolitan. She was something of a popular fixture in Hackensack being head of the P.T.A. and various other civil and business organizations. There is also a very early "pre-Captain Kangaroo" Bob Keeshan 8 x 10 autographed and inscribed photograph to Ginny. My favorite item being an early custom made pen with an old time mocrophone from "WGH" of Newport News,Va. If you collect early television look no further. Please e-mail me with request for additional photographs.
