Description:
Fabulous antique diamond brooch Circa 1830's, perhaps earlier! The brooch has a silver top and 14K gold base, typical of late Georgian/early Victorian pieces. Could have possibly been part of a tierra or large breast plate worn by royalty, which was the style of that era. The brooch has a leaf shape and is set with an estimated 7.50ct total weight MINE and ROSE CUT diamonds. This is a conservative estimate! The diamonds are bead set and the sizes vary. The brooch measures approximately 2 inches long x 1.5 inches at the widest point. The leaves curve as they would in nature giving the brooch dimension. The back of the brooch is beautifully azured and has a pin stem with plunger clasp for security. There is a makers mark near the clasp, as shown, that is not decipherable. A fabulous and well made brooch!
