Description: Original work on paper by noted artist American artist Mark Tobey (1890-1976). I believe it is tempera on paper. Its in excellent condition except for a very faint crease on the left side of his face, about 8" long, from bottom. I tried to show it in the photo but it is very faint. A full biography and valuation will accompany this piece. Image size 7"W x 9.75"H. Overall measurements 13"W x 16"H. Pencil signed and dated '32 (1932) lower right. Also, there's a tag from Christie's verso still attached. Framed behind glass with an ecru linen mat and black frame. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Stanger, Maestro Virginia Symphony.
