Description: Early 19th Century (c. 1820). Continental portrait miniature of a young child, water colour on ivory. This charming half-length portrait depicts a little boy of about age five, gazing full-face. The child, with blond hair and green eyes, is wearing a grey dress with white lace collar, set against a blue stipple background.Gilt mount set in ebonised wooden frame. Portrait, oval, 4 cms. diameter (1 1/2 inches). Frame, rectangular, 14 cms. X 13 cms. (5 1/2 inches X 5 inches). Very pretty, very decorative. Excellent condition.
