Description: This is a very nice, clean, brass body padlock with a brass shackle, and working steel key. The outside of the lock reads "EAGLE LOCK CO. TERRYVILLE CT. U.S.A." on the shackle, and also marked "PAT.FEB.25.1896" on the brass body. The key is not marked, and has the same angled tang as the shape of the keyhole. There is very little wear on the lock, a few tiny dings on the shackle, very clean brass body. The body is 1.75" diameter, the shackle material is 1/8" thick x 1/4" wide brass material. A good used antique brass lock overall! We have not seen one like this with the 1896 patent date before. Considered to be rare!
