Description: This is a wonderful 19th century tin lithography advertising sign for Dyer & Hughes Organs of Foxcroft, Maine. It has a very unusual front surface which is heavily incrusted with a granular gold substance. The lettering is well defined. The condition is fairly good – it does have a lot of soil as if something was dripped onto the surface. I’m not sure if that can be cleaned or not. It is housed in a wonderful carved wood and gold gilt frame with a beaded molding all the way around. Very interesting and a hard to find item. This is from a wonderful old estate homestead in Alfred, Maine. Overall it measures 22 5/8” x 16 7/8” and the sight size is 18 7/8” x 13”. Striving For Excellence It isn’t brilliance or just getting the breaks, It is consistent attention to & honest respect for the Customer.
