Description:
Late 19th Century Victorian cabriole leg oak Dining Chairs. Set of 7: 6 side chairs and 1 arm chair. Crafted in Holland or Denmark. Nicely hand carved details on the front corner legs which includes small flower buds diagonal incised carving and leaf design. The front of the backrest includes bellflowers similar to the leg and Victorian scroll work that is symetrical to balance the cascading effect of the carving. This design pattern was important in the Federal period of table leg design and especially in items that had many veneer inlays at that time.
