Description:
This hand painted Dresden lace porcelain ballerina figurine is marked on the bottom with a Crown/N/Dresden and the impressed #386. Dressed in a lovely green lace dress with white lace trim, she has yellow flowers delicately arrayed and gold ballet slippers. This is the care they took in making these figurines the porcelain "slip" or "dress" is poured into hand crafted molds and completely air dried before it is baked. Real cotton lace impregnated with porcelain clay is used to dress the figurine with the characteristic ruffles. The figurines are then glazed and baked. The lace burns away leaving the delicate pattern in porcelain. They are then hand painted and baked a final time. In very good condition, except for a missing finger pinky tip which does not detract from her beauty and is not noticeable because the porcelain is the same inside and out and she does have 1 flaw in her lace which I have tried to show in my pictures and she measures 4 1/4 inches tall, 3 3/4 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches deep. A great addition to any Porcelain Doll or Dresden Collection.
