Description: An early Dover egg beater in Very Good + condition. Crank wheel is stamped "T&S Dover Beater". Very pleasing patina with no rust and it spins freely. The overall length is 10" with a wheel diameter of 2 3/4". The first egg beaters appeared in the 1850's and since that time more than 1000 patents have been awarded for different designs. Dover egg beaters were so popular that at one point the generic term "dovering eggs" was used to describe the egg beating process in recipes. Dover egg beaters remain very collectable today.
