Description:
This hand painted two-door cabinet retains its original surface. The cabinet doors have a garland of flowers framed in vines and leaves. Notice the wonderful Asian inspired cast brass ornate hinges. The intricate key escutcheon is pierced carved wood designed to match the hinges. The cabinet retains its original working lock and a key. Inside are a single removable shelf and a narrow drawer. The interior measurements are 23.5" tall X 27.75" wide X 14" deep. The sides of the cabinet display additional hand paintings. The base has a gadrooned carving along the front and sides. Check out the pierced carved skirt with trailing leaves and flowers. The tops of the cabriole legs have acanthus leaf carvings, which is repeated on the feet. The extensive stretcher system has a carved finial in the middle. There is an old professional repair, which attaches the stretcher to the 2 front legs. This is only visible upon very close inspection. The cabinet is very stout and the legs are secure. The original paint is in very good to excellent condition. A cabinet of this size would work well throughout the house. Imagine it holding a television, a stereo or even bath towels!
