Material: Bronze, old lost wax casting of copper/tin alloy
Period: Early 20th century, conservatively
Dimensions: 3 1/2" height, 1 3/8" length, 1 7/8" width; weight is 4.4 ounces or 121 grams
Condition: Exceptional. No structural damage, exquisite signs of age, wear and extensive tribal use. Held in a private Parisian collection since the late 1940's, the condition of this piece remains unchanged from the time of its original field acquisition. Gorgeous dark chocolate patina displays generous brassy highlights with liberal traces of verdigris, calcification and African soil.
