Collected from the: Dogon peoples of the Bandiagara Cliffs in Mali, West Africa
Material: Hardwood, sacrificial libations
Period: Mid 20th century
Dimensions: 16" height, 5.5" width across fork, 2" depth; weight is 14.3 ounces
Condition: Exceptional. Held in a private Houston collection - no damage, age cracks test stable, exquisite signs of age with fine encrustation of sacrificial libations from authentic tribal use. Not to be mistaken for the modern reproductions occasionally found on the market today.
