Framed front page of the Chicago Tribune edition of November 3, 1948 proclaiming Dewey Defeats Truman. Arguably the most famous newspaper every published. The error is now internationally famous. The Tribune staff, based on the early returns, decided Dewey would be the next President. After the newspaper was delivered to the street, more returns came in and showed that Truman would be the ultimate winner and be reelected as President. The already delivered "error" newspapers were gat d for return by staff members sent out to pick them up from newsstands and homes in the Chicago area. Original copies are selling for $2,000 or more at auction. This is a beautifully produced reproduction of the front page of this incredible collectible newspaper. It is very nicely framed and includes a gold engraved nameplate with description. Perfect for office, library or gift item. This is a full size reproduction, the frame measures 21" x 27" and will be packed very carefully to insure that the item arrives in good condition.
