Description:
This 4 piece floral porcelain mint / nut set is marked on the square tray: Danmark/Porcelain/Denmark/Hand Painted #37 in green, while the oval brown flower with red rose has the #58-116 with 2 round green felt protectors underneath, the oval brown flower with blue bouquet has the #32-93 and no protectors and the grey, brown flower has the #78-95 and 2 round green felt protectors. According to my Kovel's New Dictionary of Marks the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891 required that the name of the country where the ceramic was originally made must be printed on each piece, this mark was first used in 1850, Danmark is Danish for Denmark. A beautiful blending of colors that include green, yellow, cream, blue, light and dark browns and magenta to name a few. In very good condition, without chips or cracks the square tray measures 5/8 inch high, 5 7/8 inches long and 4 7/16 inches wide while the 3 oval dishes measure 4 5/8 inches long and 2 3/4 inches wide. A wonderful addition to any table setting or Denmark Porcelain Collection. SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. If you have questions contact me and thank you for looking.
