Deed from the City of Pittsburgh issued in 1913. This item is hand signed twice by Andrew Mellon and is over 90 years old. This is a rare, one of a kind document that is dated Oct. 23, 1913. It is for thirteen (13) lots located in Pittsburgh, PA for which $80,156.25 was paid. The land was located on Finance Street, which was along side the Pennsylvania Railroad Company tracts in Pittsburgh. The deed is signed boldly twice, in two different places by both Andrew Mellon & his younger brother Richard Mellon. Among other things, Mellon was the founder of the Mellon National Bank of Pittsburgh as well as helping in the formation of Alcoa, Gulf Oil Company, Union Steel Company, Standard Steel Car Company, New York Shipbuilding Company & others. A. Mellon was Sec'y of the Treasury from 1921- 1932 and U..S. Ambassador to Great Britain from 1932 - 1933. He died in 1937.
