Description:
This is a very rare cigar tin, from 1900 to 1920. The writing is in Frysian, a language spoken only in the Northern Netherlands Province of Friesland. The photo on the cover and on the inside are the same. It depicts a member of the Netherlands Royal House , William Lodewijk, 1560 to 1620, Count of Nassau. The tin is covered in brown paper, with the edges embroidered in a blue design. The outside photo of the Count, is in fair condition,and the inside photo is in excellent condition. The brown paper around 100 hundred years old, and shows wear as can be seen in the photos. It is a rare find, the tin itself is in good condition, given its age. This tin was made in a period when paper was often glued to the surface of the tin, rather than having printing on it. The tin stands approximately 2.2 inches high, and 7.2 inches long and 4,5 inches wide. Enjoy the art.
