Description:
Pair of Brass & Glass Lanterns. Outstanding matching pair of brass and glass hanging lanterns. They are stunning in design; they were well thought out with a nice combination of cut work brass. The two central rims are all in cut work brass with a star design & the top dome and canopy are cut work in a floral design. There is so much work in these hanging lanterns and so much depth they are very architectural & were originally candle burning & they have since been fitted for electricity. The condition is very good and the size is just spectacular. These were generally used in hallway and I could see them used today even in a kitchen over a long kitchen island simply because the lines are very clean and they give off a good amount of light. They are European or American I’m not sure which but I am sure they are spectacular! The lanterns have a few cracks in the glass as I hope you can see in the pictures. The cracks don’t bother me in fact I find them very rich and warm and true signs of authenticity and age but they could be replaced I’m sure if it bothers you. A great pair of very unusual 19th century candle burning lanterns now fitted for electricity
Measure: 28”H x 16”D & you can use any length chain.
