Description: Hand cut crystal sugar w/sterling silver top Diameter at base 3 3/4"; Height 6 1/2" A beautiful "Victorian" Sugar. The top is stamped "Alvin Z82 sterling"/. These markings were used by Alvin Silver Co. 1919-1928. The deep miter cuts in the glass crystal results in an exquisitely detailed base design. These miter cuts extend to the top of the sugar. The sterling silver top has an opening for a spoon. Alvin is now a division of Gorham Silver Co. This sugar could have been part of a set which is indicated by the markings "Z82" which identifies the set. The sugar and top is in perfect condition
