Description:
This set of six Edwardian era postcards is a perfect
window on the sentimentality of the period. A young
boy and girl act out a courtship drama that would be
appropriate to a much older couple. They have been
photographed in a series of vignettes that are titled
Introduction, Progress, A Lovers Quarrel,
Reconciliation, Proposal "Shall I Say Yes", and Happy
Ever After. The cards are half tone prints from black and
white photographs that have applied color printed on.
The divided back cards are in very good condition with
the tiniest of corner rubs and some glue residue
on the back of two of them. They were published by
Millar & Lang, Ltd. Glasgow and London and printed in
Britain.
