Description: The LC4 Chaise Lounge is the best known and most successful of Le Corbusier's designs that first exhibited at the Salon D’ Automne in 1929. This lounge chair was designed in 1928 for the furnishing of a villa in the Ville d’ Avray and brings in use exposed structural elements with padded leather cushion and headrest. This charming LC4 Chaise lounge has a tubular frame with leather upholstery/pony skin and painted steel "H" shaped base. The chaise-lounge is constructed out of two separate and distinct elements: the base and the seat. The latter, consisting of a tubular metal frame with elastic straps and leather covering, can move on the base, enabling the person who use it, to adopt to any position without the need for mechanical intervention, since the chair is self-balancing in any position. The shape of the seat results from a study of anatomy. The LC4 Chaise Lounge chair has a movable frame, which adjusts along the base from upright to full recline with ease. It allows you to select from the various choices of positions for guaranteed comfort. ---Condition Information: All vintage items are sold as is. Signs of wear will vary with the items age.
