Artist's Biography: Pamela Talese, a native of Manahattan, studied drawing, lithography, and typography at Smith College, and painting at The Arts Student League in New York and at The International School of Art in Todi, Italy. While Talese paints still life and figures in the classical tradition, her main interest is the cultivated landscape-both urban and rural. Taleses landscapes are done en plein air / on location, and has done so in central and southern Italy, northern Vermont, eastern Wyoming and most frequently in the outer boroughs of New York City. It is the landscape, the standing out in it, watching the weather, tracking the light, and scrambling to render the effects, that make the challenges of truck traffic and dirt, the changing weather and wind worth it. Taleses work is in many private collections in the United States and Europe, and is in The New York Historical Societys collection of New York subjects. [Source: and .html]
