Description:
This 12.5 inch lady is by Hedi Schoop who made
pottery under her brand from 1938 to 1958. There is a
handwritten mark on the bottom, "Hedi Schoop" &
"Hollywood Cal". She has a chip on the inside front rim of her hat. The hat has some rough feeling areas around the edge. This was repainted with black paint by an earlier owner. I have taken several close ups of this area but the shiny black is hard to photograph. Any white spots are light reflections. Please email me if you have any questions.
She is dressed in a black shirt and cream top decorated with hand painted pink roses and
green leaves. She carries two cream colored baskets with black
lining for flowers. The handles are twisted strings that
loop over her arms. The string appears to be original.
There is overall crazing of the glaze, as there often is in these
older California Pottery pieces and a couple of rubs on the skirt. She has a sweet,
smiling face and would be a bright and sunny addition
