Description: This goldtone and enamel compact looks like a stylized seashell to me with swirled molded black and gold ribs. The powder compact with mirror was made by Dorset of 5th Avenue, England in the 1930-1940s. The stylish compact has it's original labeled puff, but the mirror has a small crack and the back shows some wear but the front is in very good condition and is a lovely piece. The compact clasp and hinge are tight and work well. Very stylish!
