Description:
Beautifully chased with very fine fern and star decoration in 3-colored 14 carat gold and set with a diamond. This is a hunting- cased pocket watch by Waltham or, to be correct, the American Watch Company which was, at one time, based in Waltham, Mass. It has a white enamel dial with a separate seconds dial. Both inner and outer cases are stamped 14 ct. The pink gold shield on the outer cover has the monogram 'MT', whilst the inner gold cover has a presentation inscription: ' Mamie Taylor from Aunt Mary Morgan as a Graduating Gift 1895.' That is 113 years and the decoration is still crisp and unworn. Still in working order, though I cannot guarantee the accuracy of a digital watch. Dimensions: 1.44" diameter, 0.44" deep.
