Description: A wonderful early tin colander from Houghton and Dutton. Houghton and Dutton was one of the first stores to experiment with the department store concept shortly after the Civil War. They prospered and at one time were the largest department store in the United States. This colander is in very good condition with clean solders and solidly attached strap handles of 1". It still retains it's brass Houghton & Dutton label. A great addition to your kitchenalia collection.
