2 Coalport Tiffany China Teacups Saucers 1890s-1910s
Description: Two Cups and Two Saucers in Bone China, Made in 1890s-1910s, by Coalport in Staffordshire for Tiffany & Co. in New York. The cups and saucers have twisted fluting, gilt scalloped rims, and (on the cups) gilt handles. The decoration consists of a white ground with allover blue foliage and gilt highlights. On the underside is the Coalport stamp that was in use from ca. 1891 to circa 1920. There is also a stamp indicating that the pieces were made for Tiffany & Co. One cup has the number "5828/A" painted in red. A nice tea-for-two set. Dimensions: Each cup: 2-1/2" High, 3-3/4" Wide, 3-1/4" Deep. Each saucer: 3/4" High, 5-1/2" Diameter. Total weight: 1 lb. Condition: One cup has a hairline crack (1") that is visible on the interior and exterior. The same cup has a resistant stain on the interior bottom and the exterior bottom. Some of the gilding has worn away.
