Description:
A Enameled Battersea Box with a great hand painted scene. I hope the scene is meant to be a comical one! It is a horse drawn stage coach that seems to be out of control with the horse running furiously & one lady has already fallen off. One lady has fallen over & her little legs are straight up in the air! The detail is very fine & just what you would expect for a rare Battersea Box. Battersea enamels, which are enamels painted on copper, were made in the Battersea district of London from about 1750 to 1756. The enameling is very good on this one having only the slightest amount of faint chipping on the exterior very close to the rim. The color blue for the base of the box is just spectacular! Measuring 2”long x 1 1/2”wide x 1 1/4” high. Be sure to browse my entire web catalogue for more spectacular miniature boxes. Striving For Excellence It isn’t brilliance or just getting the breaks, It is consistent attention to & honest respect for the Customer. Our Shipping is Exceptional; Furniture & Chandeliers are transported by Small Independent Carriers for a More Personal Delivery, From Maine to Florida Every 6 to 8 Weeks, It Is Very Reasonable, Ask Me about It!
