Description: A CINNABAR LACQUER RED & BLACK COVERED BOX

The base level of this decorative box is made up of several layers of red lacquer carved with a classic Chinese geometric design, while the surface layers are black lacquer carved with high relief flowers on the top lid. The interior is solid black, and there are gracefully curved geometric and flower designs around the sides. Condition is excellent, and age is circa early 20th century.
