Description:
This stunning 2-door cabinet was crafted in China. The solid-teak doors were made during the 19th century. The cabinet was made in 1950. The wood has developed a lovely patina over the past 100 and more years which complements the exquisite grain nicely. Scroll-like iron detailing adorns the doors. The door pulls are pugs with an iron ring in their mouth adding novel charm to this piece. The moulding that runs along the top is carried down the sides and around the base. The sides are panelled. There is a generous amount of storage space composed of (3) shelves and (2) drawers. The drawer joints are dovetailed. The shelves are removable, which would make this into a great television cabinet. There is one minor imperfection on the bottom left-hand side (pictured above) and (1) missing bolt cover. This sturdy piece is in good condition and is a whimsical example of Chinese craftsmanship!
