Description: Impressively large and nice brilliant colors, this Chinese Lamp (vase) measures 16" h. to the mount, and 8 1/2" w. The red stamp mark on the bottom indicates a late 19th c. - c. 1909 date, considered the Republic Period. This vase has not been drilled for wiring but was adapted to use as a lamp. It does exhibit a hairline crack extending the length on the backside of the vase. It would be nice to represent it as perfect, but it does show indication it has already lived a long time and has functioned quite well as a lamp, and would also be a striking display item. Without the imperfection, it would be worth considerably more.
