Description: This is a heavily carved wedding bed. The 'headboard' is 73.5" high at the peak. The inside measurements are 62" deep by 74.5" wide. The measurements on the outside are 64" deep by 82" wide. This mechandise is located in an antique mall and subject to prior sell. The history of the Chinese wedding or bridal bed is that they are usually installed by the groom the day before the wedding. The installation ceremony consisted of merely moving the bed slightly; the actual work was done by servants or friends. A propitious hour and a 'good luck woman' or 'good luck man', that is a man or women with many children and living mates, were selected to install a newly purchased bed.
