Description: A fine quality Chinese Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) bronze censer in the archaic style of Western Chau Dynasty (1000 BC). The censer is decorated with Kylin on the lid and taotie marks on the legs. Arcaic birds also decorate the censer. The bronze censer sits on a later base. The censer itself measures 11 inches high and is 13.50 inches high on the base. CONDITION: The bronze has a very high copper content. The lid has old lead repairs under two of the Kylin and there are possibly old repairs to the censer legs where they are attached to the body.
