Description:
This is a Chinese import vase ©1770-1810. It has undergone a museum-quality restoration to repair damage to its flared top. A raised blue geometric design rings the neck of the vase just below the flared top. This piece is vibrant in color and detail, the white porcelain is bright and uncrazed, and there is very little evidence of wear. The pictorial design seems to tell a story in two domestic scenes with a servant carrying his burden from a road to a dwelling. The scenes include other figures, women, men and a child, all beautifully painted on the white porcelain surface. The colors are vivid and there is a slight trace of orange peel on the bottom.
