Chinese famille jaune ginger jar with brilliant enamel colors and unique designs. The jar features a double happiness design, with a butterfly and blue pomegranate centered between two reserves. Each of the reserves depicts a beauty and a child riding a Kirin, with a young man holding an umbrella over their heads. The bottom of the jar is painted with turquoise enamel, with unglazed foot and unglazed lip. There are no maker or dynasty marks, but the jar appears to be from the early 19th century. The jar is in excellent overall condition, with no apparant damage or repairs. The size is 9" high x 8" diameter, and it weighs 5 lbs.
