Description: Here is a doucai enameled bowl in a wimsey style. The top is decorated with three swimming, and almost smiling fish. The edge of the bowl is crimped and shaped to resemble a pond of water. Underneath, the foot is cut away to 3/4" depth to create an unusually high stand for the bowl, making it look like an aquarium. The foot is decorated in a water and wave motif and the underside is decorated with scrolling movement. Everything about this piece speaks of action. The damage consists of a one inch hairline crack with a noticable chip out of the bottom of the top rim. This piece is full of life: the fish are somewhat comical and look as if they are almost dancing!
