Description:
This is a rare and unusual Antique Chinese Porcelain Famille Rose Mandarin Brush Pot. It is beautifully decorated with having four Mandarin style figures attired in colorful robes and costumes. It is ornately enameled. The modeling, painting, and glaze are masterfully done with white background decorated with many colors including iron red, blue, orange, green, purple, and famille rose. The brush pot has a stylized top and bottom border. The top rim, inside, and underside bottom are glazed. The bottom of the raised foot rim is unglazed. There is a four-character cheop mark on the bottom in underglaze red. Dimensions (in inches): 2.2 Tall X 3.6 Wide X 3.6 Deep. Weight is 3.4 Oz. The date is New Republic, Ching Dynasty, circa 1912 to 1916, early 20th Century. Condition: The brush pot is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, or other defects other than firing flaws and minor wear; no apparent restorations. Sold as is, as described.
