Description: Chelsea Clock/Barometer Set. Chelsea #183203 CA1927. Clock has 4 1/2" diameter silvered and engraved dial. Bezel measures 5 1/2" diameter. The backboard measures 16" high by 8" wide. Eight day ship's bell movement. The barometer is French made and is marked "C.E. Beckman Co. No. 33 Commercial St. New Bedford, Mass.". The barometer includes a thermometer. C.E. Beckman is located in the heart of the commercial district which served this old whaling port. Beckman started out as co-owner of a sailmaking firm at the same location. He bought out the partner and the firm has since been making and providing boat items of all descriptions to the working and pleasure fleets of New Bedford. The clock, barometer and thermometer are all working very well.
