Description:
Chauncey Goodrich was born in 1816 and died in 1895. He lived and worked in Bristol and Forestville, Connecticut. He was both a clock and toy manufacturer. He was partnered in the clock business with Birge and Ives and later with J.C. Brown. This wonderful example of his work features an iron front case with a wooden back box. The eight-day clock mechanism runs well and strikes the hours correctly. The dial is also original and retains Goodrich's name (see photograph). Everything about this charming and colorful clock is original and has real eye-appeal. Collectors of iron front clocks will certainly want to add this to their collection.
