Description: Circa late 1940's to early '50's ... This elegant and refined pair of screwback earrings boasts an inverted bow tie motif when worn. Handwrought in sterling silver, the earrings are embellished with exquisite cobalt blue glass cabochons. Two dainty silver hemispheres serve as the bowknot on each earring, while silver bands overlay the glass cabs, creating a delightful appearance of decorative stripes in the bows. Hallmarks: PLATA, 925, CJB {in circle}. This hallmark is cited in Bille Hougart's The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks. Dimensions: 7/8" x 3/8". Condition: Excellent vintage condition, with no cracks, chips, or other flaws in the glass.
