Description: This is a figural molded shell shaped dish in hand colored blue transfer or transferware in the Charlotte pattern made by Royal Crownford, England in the 1930s. This design was made by several potteries and is thought to have been originated by Clarice Cliff at Royal Wilkinson in the 1920s. The 3 footed dish measures 2 inches high by 6 inches long by 5 inches wide and has a molded oyster back with a pale yellow tint. The shell dish could be used for soap, candy or paper clips and is in excellent condition. Very collectible and a marvelous design accent.
