Description: Qing period mutton fat white jade disk carved in open work featuring birds and flowers. The jade material is homogeneous and clear of inclusions pointing toward the manufacture in the imperial workshop. This is a good luck amulet worn as a pendant. Size: 3.1" X 2.8" (7.5 cm. X7 cm.). Estimated value: $1500. Provenance: Dr. Veleanu's jade collection, the renown author of illustrated collectors' textbook: "Jade, 5000 BC to 1912 AD, Guide to collectors".
