Description: 18th. century Malaysian silver Klewang dagger with intricate chiseled ornaments in hilt and scabbard. Single edge straight blade contains meteoric iron and has intricate damascus watering. Pistol grip type with chiseled decorations in silver with floral pattern. The edge of the chape is not covered by the silver sheet. Length: 15.8" (40 cm.). Blade length: 8.7" (22 cm.) Rare. Estimated value; $5000. Provenance: Dr. Veleanu's collection, the renown author of the collectors' textbook: "Antique swords and daggers".
