Balto, a sled dog, is honored as a bronze statue in New York City's Central Park for his strength and determination by taking Gunnar Kaasen, who was taking antitoxin serum from Alaska to Nome due to an epidemic, through a blinding blizzard and helping him survive and deliver the serum.
