Description: A Cased Pair of Percussion Travelling Pistols by J. Tarratt of London, Circa 1850. Each with signed octagonal twist barrel with brass fore-sight, the breech tang inlayed with one platinum line, scroll engraved brass stock with standing back sight, scroll engraved side-hammer, finely chequered walnut butt, engraved brass mounts comprising butt plate, with butt trap and ramrod pipes, steel trigger guard and swivel ramrod. The pistols have vacant silver escutcheons: in their original mahogany case with flush fitting brash escutcheon, lined n plum velvet and complete with some accessories comprising powder flask, barrel cleaning rods, bullet mould and nipple key.
