. Outstanding turn of the century Japanese Ivory group, Incredibly carved with immense detail is a girl on a swing & two girls behind her pushing the swing as they’re little dogs stands by watching the activities .As you can see the polychrome is also incredible ,having naturalistic yet vivid colors , Impressive sculpture is 14” high including the carved wood stand which I believe to be rosewood & 8” wide & 6 ?” deep .The ivory group alone is 12” high x 6 ?” wide x 5 1/8”diameter of center. The overall condition is really great , having only a slight bow to the top crest a separation of the veil that is swirling behind the girl on the swing ,one of the swing handles that she is holding is detached at the hand & can easily be repaired ,the sides of the swing frame are also studded with small turquoise beads and several of them are missing on one side & a few on the back side as well .I would say for the date of this sculpture the condition should be considered great ,this is one of the last pieces from a private collection I bought several years ago here in Camden Maine , I love this piece so much I kept it for myself, the subject matter is so pleasing & the detail is beyond belief ,I look at this piece every day & I will always see something in it that I didn’t see the day before , its just one of those incredible works of art !Shipping for this one must be via craters & freighters, they are professional packers & quite reasonable & I have always had great success with them ,Thanks search Asian works of art Ivory Ivories figural group Japan Japanese tusk
