Description: Heavy old bronze jardinaire with relief sculpted sides and elephant handles. China, 19th century.
Measures 9 3/4inches high and 9inches accross the top.
Sculpted relief scenes in reserves. A god/man rushes against the wind, holding out a beaker as an offering. Dragons at his feet. In another scene, a bearded sage rides a horse through wildly sinuous natural setting. Handles cast in the form of elephant heads. Marvellous patina inside and out.
Signed in Chinese underneath. Excellent condition - no damage of any sort.
