Description: This wonderful three piece butter warmer was produced by Cardinal China Company aka Carteret China Company of Carteret, New Jersey. They were in operation from the late 1940's to mid 1960's. This unused treasure is mid-century modern in design. The 3 leg base is black metal with rubber feet. It holds a 2" high x 2" diameter glass cup from Federal glass. The original yellow candle is still in it. The bright yellow three toed ceramic sauce pot sits on top of the metal frame. The butter warmer measures 3 3/8" in diameter, 5 3/8" long to the end of the handle and 1 5/8" high. The assembled 3 Pieces measure 4 3/8" high. The bottom of the pottery piece is marked CARDINAL CHINA CO. The original red paper lable is still inside the warmer. It reads:BUTTER WARMER FOR GOURMETS WHO LIKE BUTTERED CORN ON THE COB OR TASTY WAFFLES TOO. FOR ANY SEAFOOD DISH FROM LOBSTER TO FISH I'LL MELT THE BUTTER FOR YOU. A PRODUCT OF CARDINAL CHINA COMPANY CARTERET, NEW JERSEY. The original paper price sticker is on the outside. It reads: WEBB'S CITY, INC. C5 CEI RM $1.00.
