Large & Very Comprehensive French Silver Flatware Service. All Fully & Correctly Hallmarked With The Number 1 Standard, The Highest Standard Of 950 Instead Of The Sterling 925. Also Marked With The The Cardeilhac Mark Which Incorporates The Medal Of Honour, Which They Received For Their Fine Silversmithing. Cardeilhac Was One Of The Premier Family Of Parisian Silversmiths. The Maison Cardeilhac, Founded In 1804, Were Originally Flatware Makers And Were Known For The Exceptional Quality Of Their Work. It Was In The London Exhibition Of 1862 Where Cardeilhac Won Its First Medal In The Cutlery Section. In 1889 in Paris He Won A Silver Medal In The Silversmithing Section And The Grand Prix In The Cutlery Section. Having Worked For French Royalty As Well As Napolean. The Firm Was Eventually Purchased By Christofle In 1951.
