Description: Hand painted porcelain statuette of a Napoleonic Imperial Guardsman wearing a highly polished breastplate and magnificent crested helmet. This type of elite mounted soldier is called a cuirassier— named for his steel armour which is called a cuirass. The queen of England's Household Cavalry wear cuirasses as do certain selite calvary units in France and Italy.

Marked and numbered 55/1259 on the bottom as shown with the backstamps of Capodimonte and the designer DiPietro.

Circa mid 20th C.

MEASURES 3-3/4 inches square at base, 12-1/4 inches tall.

Very Good condition. No cracks, dings or repairs found.
